Loving A Cop

I can't vouch for everyone else who wears the badge...But I can vouch for mine, and he is good, and loyal, and kind. He is steadfast and unshakable in hope. His heart is to restore what is broken and he loves the people he protects.

When I asked him how he felt about the world hating him because of an oath he swore and a uniform he wears he said to me "It doesn't matter what they say or think of me; it's not going to change what I do. Every day I am out there, boots on the ground being the positive change I want to see in the world."

It's been a hard season recently, and I am not asking for sympathy or even for anyone to try and understand, I'm just sharing our story and a little bit about this man behind the badge. Because I think if the world did a little less speaking and a little more listening, we all might learn a thing or two.

And at the end of the day, I think we are all a lot more a like than we are different; we share the common bond of humanity. While values and opinions may differ, at the core of most humans we want to love and be loved.

So while the world may hate him for the badge he wears, it won't stop him from quietly going about him life and continuing to make a positive impact however he can. And I will be right besides him, supporting him and loving him.

For all of you LEOWs out there feeling the same exact way... this is for you and your man (or woman) in uniform.

Love,
