DIY Epsom Salt Bath Soaks

What woman doesn’t love a good relaxing bath? Just thinking about it makes me want to go ahhhhhh. Slipping down into a warm, scented tub of water to let all your worries melt away. Sounds dreamy right?
Well did you know what a lot of traditional soaps, bath bombs, and soaks have harmful chemicals in them that can disrupt your endocrine system and unbalance your hormones? Yuck right? Nothing relaxing about soaking in a tub of synthetics. So what’s a girl to do?
Why, make her own natural, non toxic bath soaks of course! Creating your own safe and healthy epsom salt bath soaks with essential oils is incredibly simple and depending on how you’re feeling you can switch up your oils to support your feelings! It’s always a great way to use up every last drop of essential oils in those precious little bottles!
*Note; I only use Young Living oils and do not recommend purchasing cheap or synthetic oils; actually, I highly suggest you don’t as these could cause adverse affects! I only stand behind Young Living and their 100% pure, therapeutic grade essential oils. If you would like to know more, please feel free to email me or read this blog post.
How to Make Your Own Epsom Salt Bath Soak
To be honest, I normally just scoop a handful of epsom salt and drop 2-5 drops of essential oil into it, allow it to absorb for a second and then put it right in my bath. It’s a quick way to add amazing benefits to your bath but also switch up your essential oils based on your needs. (If you’d like to learn more about essential oils you can check out this Intro to Essential Oils Class I did!)
BUT, there is also a simple trick to create your own epsom salt bath soaks that allows you to drain every last drops from your essential oils containers! I heard about this essential oil hack a long time ago and have had a jar of Epsom salts sitting on my counter ever since!
When you’ve extracted every last drop of that pure plant goodness from your Young Living bottles, simply pop off the white dropper lid and place the bottle and lids upside down in a jar of Epsom salts. Let the oil bottle drain into the Epsom salts at least over night over even for a few days. It’ll absorb every last whiff of that amazing plant essence and leave you with wonderful smelling bath salts! (I suggest having a top on your jar while so that non of the goodness escapes or evaporates!)

Epsom Salt Bath Soaks Gift
The best part about having these jars of Epsom salts on hand, is that they make wonderful gifts! I always have empty bottles of essential oils embedded in my jars of Epsom salts, so if I need a last-minute gift I can whip one up in a matter of minute! Sometimes I leave everything right in the jar, add a cute ribbon, a little note and leave it at that. Other times I put them in a cute baggie for the perfect hostessing gift.
The best part is that while this is a very cost-effective gift, it’s also a fun way to introduce people to essential oils and their amazing benefits! You could also make a fun bath-night inspired basket that includes you homemade recipe for epsom salt bath soaks, maybe a book, chocolates, homemade chapstick, bath bombs, etc!
Sweet, simple, and totally wonderful! Get started on your own jar of epsom salt bath soak today!
Happy & healthy soaking,
